The purpose of Pennie the co-robot is to promote learning and safety. Pennie will learn from her environment about equipment usage and safety procedures. The robot will then use this knowledge to monitor labs and workshops, providing real time feedback to students, correcting them when they use tools incorrectly and reminding them to wear safety goggles, for example.
